Job Overview 
 
Engineering For Kids of North Atlanta brings science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM), to children ages 4 to 14 in a fun and challenging way through after-school enrichment classes, workshops, camps, birthday parties, and special events.

We are proud to inspire children to build on their natural curiosity by teaching real-world engineering concepts through hands-on and tech-based themes. Engineering is, after all, one of the fastest-growing industries in the world!
 
Engineering For Kids of North Atlanta's programs are STEM.org Accredited, Cognia Certified, AND they align with National Teaching Standards.

Pay 
  • Starting at $320 per week for half-day camps and $560 per week for full-day camps
  • The weekly compensation includes payment for an extra hour on each day that Lead Instructors teach for arriving 30 minutes prior to the start time of the camp for activity set up and staying up to 30 minutes after the camp for student dismissal and activity clean up. 
  • Weekly attendance bonus of $50 
  • Independent Contractor Classification (1099-NEC tax form) 
Site Placement 
  • Lead Instructors will be placed at sites, such as schools and community venues, based on current vacancies and their availability for half-day and full-day summer camps. 
  • Lead Instructors will be issued supplies/materials to pick up and utilize for their summer camps. The Lead Instructors must return the remaining supplies/materials after each assigned summer camp week. 
Camp Expectations
  • Lead Instructors will teach the provided lesson plans to students who have registered for their camps at assigned schools and community venues.
  • Lead Instructors will take, set up, distribute, and clean up the necessary distributed supplies when facilitating the activities in the lesson plans.
  • Lead Instructors will exhibit proficient classroom management skills when teaching their camps.
  • Lead Instructors will follow the guidelines in the program’s operating procedures and teacher handbook.
  • Lead Instructors will follow each assigned site’s written and verbal instructions that pertain to campus and camp operations. 
  • Lead Instructors will exhibit professionalism with all stakeholders such as students, parents, site staff, program staff, etc.
  • Lead Instructors will report any significant program-related concerns to the designated program staff.
Professional Experience 
  • Lead Instructors must have at least 2 years of experience working with children in elementary and/or middle school. Enrichment and/or classroom teaching experience is a plus. 
Education 
  • Lead Instructors must have a college degree or be pursuing a college degree. 
Certification 
  • Lead Instructors must provide documentation of unexpired CPR/First Aid Certification before teaching any camps. 
Additional Requirements 
  • Lead Instructors must have a laptop or computer and a printer. Lead Instructors must have reliable transportation. Having access to a personal vehicle will be helpful when transporting supplies for the lessons.
  • Some sites where Lead Instructors are placed require additional background check requirements that include one or more of the following: background check forms, fingerprinting, and/or drug screening. The instructors who have fingerprinting and/or drug screening requirements will be paid $15 upon completion of each screening. 
  • With regard to COVID-19 precautions, instructors must be willing to comply with site expectations to provide a safe environment for the students. For example, frequent hand washing, bringing clean supplies, and wearing masks might be required or strongly encouraged.

  • North Atlanta, GA (predominantly 30305, 30306, 30319, 30322, 30324, 30326, 30327, 30329, 30341, 30342, 30363); sites might also be located in other zip codes  
Schedule 
  • Half-Day Camps: Monday - Friday, 4 hours per day 
  • Full-Day Camps: Monday - Friday, 7 hours per day (or more with additional compensation) 
 
Compensation: $320.00 - $560.00 per week
