Site Placement
- Instructors will be placed at sites, such as schools and community venues, based on their availability for after-school enrichment classes. This is not an aftercare/childcare program. Our Instructors provide after-school enrichment classes at multiple sites.
- Instructors will be assigned a weekly schedule in a one-hour class on each day of the week that they teach. Instructors will typically be assigned more than one site per week and teach at each site on its same assigned day each scheduled week.
- Instructors will be issued supplies/materials to pick up and utilize for their after-school enrichment classes. Instructors who are issued supplies will return the remaining supplies at the end of each semester.
- Instructors will substitute for other instructors when they are absent or at sites that have vacancies until the vacancies are filled.
Classroom Expectations
- Instructors will teach the provided lesson plans to students who have registered for their classes at assigned schools and community venues.
- Instructors will take, set up, distribute, and clean up the necessary distributed supplies when facilitating the activities in the lesson plans.
- Instructors will exhibit proficient classroom management skills when teaching their classes.
- Instructors will follow the guidelines in the program’s operating procedures and teacher handbook.
- Instructors will follow each assigned site’s written and verbal instructions that pertain to campus and class operations.
- Instructors will exhibit professionalism with all stakeholders such as students, parents, site staff, program staff, etc.
- Instructors will report any significant program-related concerns to the designated program staff.
Professional Experience
- Instructors must have at least 2 years of experience working with children in elementary and/or middle school. Enrichment and/or classroom teaching experience is a plus.
Education
- Instructors must have a college degree or be pursuing a college degree.
Certification
- Instructors must provide documentation of unexpired CPR/First Aid Certification prior to teaching classes.
Additional Requirements
- Instructors must have access to a laptop or computer and a printer.
- Instructors must have reliable transportation. Having access to a vehicle that the instructor can drive will be beneficial in transporting supplies to and from the classes.
- Some sites where instructors are placed require additional background check requirements that include one or more of the following: background check forms, fingerprinting, and/or drug screening. Instructors who have fingerprinting and drug screening requirements will be paid $15 for each occurrence.
- Some sites require additional external training. Instructors who are required to complete external training will be paid $15 per hour to complete the external training.
Pay
- $20 - $25 per hour for teaching after-school enrichment classes.
- Instructors are paid for an extra hour on each day that they teach for arriving 30 minutes prior to the start time of the class for activity set up and staying up to 30 minutes after the class for student dismissal and activity clean up.
- Monthly attendance bonus of $50
- Semester bonus of $75
- Independent Contractor Classification (1099-NEC tax form)
- Mileage compensation is not provided. Instructors are encouraged to track their mileage to report it on their tax return as part of their independent contractor expenses.
Location
- North Atlanta, GA (predominantly 30305, 30306, 30319, 30322, 30324, 30326, 30327, 30329, 30341, 30342, 30363); sites might be located in other zip codes as well
Schedule
- Monday - Thursday up to 8 hours per week based on the instructor's availability and class vacancies
- Start and end times vary by site typically between the hours of 1:30 p.m. and 6:10 p.m.
Compensación: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
